Carmen Hughes is working with Handel Group® to develop and Head the Diversity Division for HG Corp. With 20 years of Wall Street experience, Carmen will train individuals and teams to elevate their performance and leadership. Her coaching and consulting will cross all aspects of the team from top to bottom. Strong leaders, breed strong teams, which foster innovation and increased productivity, and result in better employee morale and retention.

Prior to joining Handel Group®, Carmen was an Executive Director and Head of Campus Recruiting and Pipeline Development for Chase Bank (a subsidiary of JPMorganChase). In this capacity, she was responsible for creating the National recruiting, mentoring, and promotional strategies across 6 consumer businesses. In addition to recruiting, Carmen designed the curriculum for the 2-year rotational Chase Leadership Development Program for both the analysts (Bachelor’s degree) and the associates (MBAs).

carmen-candidBefore transitioning to Human Resources, Carmen spent 17 years of her career at JPMorgan Securities (a subsidiary of JPMorganChase) on the trading floor. She started as an analyst in operations and was quickly promoted through the ranks to an Executive Director and Generalist on the Institutional Fixed Income Sales team. As a Generalist, she focused on delivering the full spectrum of Fixed Income products to insurance companies, pension funds, asset managers, banks, and hedge funds.

While at JPMorganChase, Carmen also acted as Co-Chair of the Investment Bank’s Black Leadership Forum. Most notable, she implemented several key diversity programs for Blacks and Hispanics with measurable success.

Carmen graduated with honors from Howard University’s School of Business with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and is an alumna of INROADS. She has a passion for giving back to her community and is a member of the Board and Chair of the Board Governance and Nominations Committee for Habitat For Humanity-NYC.

Carmen is married with three wonderful children. In her spare time, she loves to travel and play golf.
